Pasman is island on the Croatian Adriatic coast, south of Zadar. Ranks among the larger Croatian islands and it is separated from the mainland by the Pasman Channel that is only 2 km wide in some points. It is located in the Zadar archipelago, between Zadar and Biograd.
The Mediterranean climate has developed a rich flora and fauna, many species of medicinal and aromatic plants, and underwater preserves all kinds of shellfish and fish of Croatian Adriatic.
The sea is chrystal clear and beaches are somewhere sandy and rocky. The sea currents are changing every 6 hours and therefore the local sea water is among the cleanest in the Adriatic.
Pasman is known for its beautiful sandy beaches and pine forests on the north side of the island facing the mainland, which is only inhabited. Villages are small and quiet and therefore ideal for rest and relaxation. The southern side of the island abounds with pristine nature, numerous bays, blue sea, the old fishermen's houses all with a view to Kornati islands. This side of island has no roads and is very popular for Robinson-like holidays.
Most residents of the island are traditionally engaged in fishing and agriculture, recently tourism. A rich tourist offer is developed.
